Traditionally people in the workforce would find insurance benefits through their employers and that coverage was then extended to their families as well. The central piece to those benefits was the health insurance coverage and then other auxiliary products were then often offered in addition to the health plans like Life, Dental, or Disability coverage as well. These work-based plans had two big advantages:
- Automatic approval—everyone was accepted.
- At least 50% of the premiums were paid by the employer for the employee’s premiums.
This meant that an employee did not have to worry about being denied coverage once he/she was eligible to receive work benefits, and that the employee’s family did not get denied coverage either. But these work-based benefits are virtually non-existent in the Cosmetology & Esthetician industry. With virtually the entire Beauty & Esthetician industry working independently, insurance benefits are contingent upon qualifying, not automatic approval. Meaning that hard working cosmetologists estheticians could often not get coverage. And so their families were often not covered as well.
But there is an answer! The California Cosmetology Association does offer automatic coverage to their members and families! The California Cosmetology Association is available to anyone in California’s Beauty & Esthetician Industry. This also includes:
