The holiday season is one of the busiest times for a salon. Take advantage of it by maximizing your sales potential. Here are some tips for how to increase your revenue.
1. HOLIDAY PARTIES. Many businesses have holiday parties for their employees. What better place to have one than in your salon? Target the local businesses in your area and volunteer to be the host. Provide services to the guests, such as hair or skin consultations, massages, or a make-up session. Remember to hand out your brochures and business cards.
2. GIFT CERTIFICATES. Gift certificates make a great present, so talk them up to your clients. Are they available to purchase on your website? Make sure your business software allows you to easily create gift certificates, collect payment, and keep track of how many are sold. Add your logo to the gift certificate to increase brand recognition, and offer seasonal designs to effectively entice the buyer.
3. HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS. Who doesn’t love a holiday special, especially last-minute shoppers? Some examples are: “Purchase 2 gift certificates and get 10% off the total.” or “Purchase 1 service and receive 25% off a second one.” Promote holiday specials and extended hours through social media, such as Facebook and Twitter. Send emails with seasonal information to your contacts, and remember to update your website.
4. PRE-BOOKING. Offer an incentive to pre-book by entering your client’s name into a drawing. The grand prize can be a gift basket full of products or a salon service. By getting a client to pre-book, you’re ensuring their return during the slower months.
The holiday season comes and goes in a flash, so be prepared to strategize and don’t forget to show your appreciation to your staff, as well as your clients.
